We've just finished a long weekend around here, I love long weekends, it means extra days with family, maybe a little sleep-in (7am is a sleep in around here) & time to go somewhere special or even just laze around at home. We did a bit of all of these things. It was so good.
Yesterday we went for a drive into town, we felt like a walk along the beach & some gelato. Even in the winter I crave the salt-air & sand, lucky for us we don't live too far away from some lovely beaches. After the walk we went to get gelato, miss eleven knew the best place to go after visiting not long ago with one of her friends, it was funny trying to follow her directions, after all it's not her home town. It was mine many moons ago. Living with friends in a flat near the beach, I can remember leaving my bedroom window open to hear the waves rolling in, ahh time, where did it go? Anyway back to the gelato, we eventually found the store, & we decided too not only have gelato but lunch as well. It was lovely to spend time as a family, especially as hubby has been working away for the past few weeks. We needed time to re-connect.
I have had this city paper for a while in my stash, so when I printed the photo above, I knew what I could use it for. I used embellishments from the Carolina Moon kit from Studio Calico as well. It came together really well. How long do you spend on a layout? I'm finding that when creativity strikes it can take me all of 15 minutes. I'm loving that.
Whilst I'm on the summer/beach theme, I will share our travel album that I'm working on for Citrus Twist Kits using the June kit. The kit had a summer holiday vibe & our Hawaii trip is still fresh in our minds around here. My girls love talking about their first overseas trip, I can't blame them, it was pretty special. I used this small 4x4 yellow polka-dot WRMK Instagram album, its adorable & a great size for a travel album.
Above is my Project Life Week Twenty Three. It feels great being up-to-date with my album. I keep it simple this way its really easy to do each week. I share my project life each week on Instagram straight up, so click over
to view my weeks gone by.
And lastly something I've been working on for a while, my Midori notebook inserts are available now in my Etsy store
. I'm loving that I can use up some of my scrapbooking paper with these too. I have many more coming in soon. They co-ordinate & are sold as a pair. I may have kept a heart one for myself.
Have a lovely week everyone.
