Today I'm sharing a few of my latest Project Life & Scrapbooking layouts. I usually just upload them to the gallery here on my blog & over at Studio Calico but I thought I would create a post this week to give you some ideas on how I go about my Project Life & keeping it up-to-date.
Above is #weekeighteen I think this is one of my favourites of 2015. I used a mixture of 3x4 & 4x6 cards from my studio, I didn't use one kit in particular, I do this every now again to prove to myself mainly that I can match the photo's I take to cards & embellishments I own already. The paint splatter is something new I'm trying out, I'm loving it, although first go I'm not going to lie I stuffed it right up, I had to use a wet cloth to wipe the paint away. It's hard to get the splatters just right, but I think with more practice I'll get it perfected. I was asked again to submit a members blog post over at Studio Calico
here using confetti pockets for #weekseventeen, check it out.
My latest week is #weeknineteen using my first months kit from @abeautifulmess
I wasn't sure about subscribing to this kit when it first was advertised, I'm not a big lover of bright colours, Elise & Emma are all about colour. When I saw this months kit & colours it sold me straight away. I'm loving confetti & Washi tape is an all time favourite, so I used both in this layout.
I've usually completed my project life by Sunday afternoon, however most weeks I have my 9x12 album out on a Saturday where I get my cards & embellishments laid out & roughly put into place. To print out my photos I have a Epson Picturemate, it really makes sense to print at home, so much easier. My photos are all taken on my iPhone & uploaded in the Collect App, you can journal under the photo in this app. This was a game changer for me, as I'm not a big fan of my own handwriting.
Scrapbooking layouts is something I've only started creating this year & I can finally say, I've found my niche. I love creating them. What do I like best about them? You can concentrate on one photo at a time, not a whole weeks worth of photos. I love Project Life & it's a great modern day memory keeping process, however, Scrapbooking layouts give you more creative edge, more room to play. Above is a 6x8 layout on the changes in our garden at the beginning of Autumn, I love our garden, we created our garden from scratch when we built our house, it's been a labour of love, our own growth. We planted this maple tree because I love watching the season's change, the leaves fall & sprout again, such a natural process.
So I hope I've helped in some way either with your Project Life process or trying Scrapbooking. Enjoy your Monday.
