Schools out. Yay. Lots of time spent together. Time to get creative. My girls are loving it. They are always wanting to make something, they love keeping busy a bit like their mum. So before the holidays I started collecting ideas and craft to have on hand. I have little trays (like the one above) that I use to set out activities for each day we are at home. Yesterday's activity was beading. Today was play dough. Tomorrow might be flubber or slime, who knows.
Our play dough recipe is really simple :-
1/2 cup salt
1 cup plain flour
2 tbsp cream of tarter
1 cup boiling water
1 tbsp oil
drops of food colouring
Mix together flour & tarter first, then add salt on top, add boiling water on top of salt so it dissolves more easily, add oil and drops of colouring. Knead until pliable. Store in sealed container.
The girls played outside in the sunshine for a couple of hours, we even added googly eyes to make monsters, you can add pipe cleaners too.
Hope you're enjoying the school holidays, I know we are.
All the best
